I enjoyed this very much! Thank you, Dominika.

Her reflection of suffering reminds me of Elizabeth Goudge's The Child from the Sea. "The misery of men was so vast that it could bear no single face, only the face of humanity itself, the face of Christ that is marred more than that of any man."

Her thoughts on music remind me of Divine Liturgy.

Somehow I missed your comment. That Elizabeth Goudge quote is so apt! And yes to the chant in Divine Liturgy! It really is essential to worship as being something that transcends the temporal. You should check out The Wellspring of Worship by Fr. Jean Corbon.

This is so beautiful, Dominika. Thank you for your reflection. I have never heard of Kamienska or Szymborska. I look forward to reading both of them. I’ll be returning to this often too. It’s a fullness of meditation that I need daily.

Thank you, Elizabeth! I felt like Kamieńska's words found me just when I needed them too.

I love God’s providence in that!

This really resonates with me. Thanks for writing this. I just picked up a copy of Kamieńska's poems and look forward to reading them even more, now.

Oh yay! I'm glad to hear that! She's lovely. I wish her full journals were translated into English instead of just selections.

Wisława Szymborska is another Polish poet writing in the same period that I read not too long ago and really loved.
